Apprenticeship Description: this apprenticeship trains apprentice how to become effective construction site workers through related training instructions, documented on-the-job learning (OJL) and upon completion, a national occupational credential.
Standard Course RTI Requirements:
Other inclusive related instructional training include OSHA 10 and 30 Safety Training and specific skills electives (asbestos abatement, asphalt, concrete, craft supervisor preparedness, hazardous waste worker, lead abatement, line and grade, mason tending, pipe laying, radiation remediation, underground storage tank removal).
Terms of Apprenticeship: 24 months
On-the Job Learning (OJL) Attainment: 4,000 hours
Related Training Instructions (RTI): 288 hours
Ratio of Apprentice to Journeymen/women 1:1
1st 1,000 hours of OJL + 72 hours of RTI = 50%
2nd 1,000 hours of OJL + 72 hours of RTI = 60%
3rd 1,000 hours of OJL + 72 hours of RTI = 70%
4th 1,000 hours of OJL + 72 hours of RTI = 80%
